How to buy

There is a path to buy DaggerOS. Find yours.

DaggerOS™ is a commercial product at TRL 7–8, demonstrated under live, third-party conditions at T-REX 26-2 (May 2026). That opens several acquisition pathways. Below are the real ones with public citations, our registry facts, and a guided tool that maps your specifics to a likely path.

The pathways

  • FAR Part 12 — Commercial Products and Services

FAR Part 12; commercial-product definition at FAR 2.101

DaggerOS is a commercial product, so the streamlined Part 12 procedures apply. It is the default route for a commercial buy and pairs with firm-fixed-price.

  • Other Transaction Authority (Prototype)

    10 U.S.C. §4022

For DoD buyers prototyping before a production decision — often through a consortium — with a follow-on production other transaction available on a successful prototype.

  • Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO)

    10 U.S.C. §3458

A merit-based competition for innovative commercial products and services, outside standard sealed-bid or negotiated procedures.

  • SBIR / STTR Phase III

    15 U.S.C. §638(r)

Where a qualifying prior SBIR or STTR award exists, any agency can make a Phase III sole-source award for work that derives from the funded effort.

  • Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP)

    FAR 16.202

For a definite requirement at a known price, an FFP contract fixes the cost and places performance risk on the contractor. It is the usual production form.

Acquisition Pathfinder

Answer seven questions and this tool suggests a likely acquisition pathway, the governing citation, and next steps — then builds a one-page summary you can print or email. It runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere. It is a planning aid, not procurement or legal advice.

1. Who is buying?
2. Is this a commercial product or service?

A commercial product is sold in the commercial marketplace (FAR 2.101). DaggerOS meets that definition.

3. Rough order of magnitude?
4. What is the timeline?
5. Is there a prior SBIR or STTR award for this technology, from any agency?

A qualifying prior SBIR/STTR award opens a sole-source Phase III path (15 U.S.C. §638(r)).

6. Is this a prototype effort — a trial before scaling?

Prototype other transactions (10 U.S.C. §4022) suit prototyping ahead of a production decision.

7. Are you issuing or answering an open call for innovative commercial solutions?

A Commercial Solutions Opening (10 U.S.C. §3458) competes innovative commercial items via a merit-based process.
