Counter-IED / EOD: distance, context, and a defensible record

An improvised device rewards distance and punishes haste. The operator needs context — what has been seen nearby, what is emitting, what a robot can reach — without losing a defensible account of every action taken around a live hazard.

Roadmap
  • NATO SAPIENT
  • FIPS 180-4 / 186-5
  • MAVLink
  • DoDD 3000.09

DaggerOS™ supports counter-IED and EOD work by giving the operator a fused picture around a suspected device — nearby detections, emissions, and context — and by integrating ground robotics for stand-off. Every action is written to a tamper-evident record. BlackEcho™ can recommend, but the operator decides each step and the Human Gate governs any effect.

How DaggerOS handles it

The two things an EOD operator needs are distance and context, and afterward, a clean account of what happened. DaggerOS provides context by fusing the surrounding picture, stand-off by integrating robotics over open interfaces, and accountability by sealing each action into a verifiable record. It stays passive-first and air-gapped near a hazard. The human decides every step.

  • DaggerOS — fuses the picture around the device, integrates stand-off platforms, and records every action.
  • BlackEcho — recommends next steps; it never commands a robot or an effect on its own.
  • Human Gate — the single authorization point for any action around the hazard.

Standards touched

Sensing and stand-off platforms integrate per NATO SAPIENT and MAVLink; the action record is chained per FIPS 180-4 / 186-5 so post-incident review is defensible. Human authority is held to DoDD 3000.09.

Where it fits

Counter-IED and EOD support installation force protection, route and event security, and critical-infrastructure protection. It is evaluated by SOF elements, program offices, and federal law enforcement. See installation force protection and special event security.

Evidence

Roadmap. Counter-IED and EOD support is a planned application of the fused picture and stand-off robotics, marked honestly as not yet demonstrated.

FAQ

What does DaggerOS actually contribute to EOD?

Context around the device, stand-off through integrated robotics, and a tamper-evident record of every action — the three things that make a hazardous task safer and defensible afterward.

Does it render devices safe automatically?

No. Every step is decided by the operator, and any effect passes the Human Gate. The system supports the human; it does not replace them at the hazard.

Why does the record matter here?

Because actions around a live device are reviewed closely afterward. A verifiable, SHA-256-chained account makes that review defensible rather than a reconstruction from memory.
