Technology Readiness Level
A 1–9 scale rating the maturity of a technology from basic principles (1) to proven in operations (9). Technology Readiness Levels give the government a common 1-9 scale for how mature a technology is; for a vendor, a defensible TRL claim shapes whether a program sees the work as a research bet or a fieldable capability.
